The warranty period for iPods extends for one calendar year commencing from the date of original purchase, as opposed to the date of delivery.

The warranty is void if the device has been opened, disassembled, or otherwise tampered with by any third party. This voidance applies to both software modifications (such as the installation of firmware by any third party) and hardware alterations.
