- This product requires the appropriate glue or double-sided tape to assemble, which we include with every sale of Classic Connect. It is the same glue used to do screen repairs on mobile phones, and can easily be removed.
▶ Compatibility
iPods:
- iPod Video (5th gen)
- iPod Video Enhanced (5.5th gen)
- iPod Classic (6th and 7th gen)
Bluetooth audio controls
Depending on the audio device, yours may support increasing/decreasing the volume and muting/un-muting the music. Classic Connect supports this.
Classic Connect does not support remote play/pause or skip functionality over Bluetooth.
Battery and storage combinations that are known to fit:
- Our own battery and storage combination, of which the battery is included with this product
- Our own battery and the imCort SD card adapter
- iFlash Solo, if you cut the top part off (removing the top part of the PCB does not affect functionality)
- Battery marketed as 2000 mAh and the imCort SD card adapter (after removal of the included battery)
Audio devices
We cannot guarantee compatibility with all Bluetooth audio devices. We have a protocol for returns due to incompatibility on our returns and refund policy page. I recommend asking other users before purchasing the product about compatibility.
The module uses Bluetooth v5.2 and is only compatible with devices using A2DP.
- AirPods do work.
- AirPods Pro 2 have had varying success with compatibility; I would not recommend using this product with them.
- You cannot connect this directly to your car; you must use a "dumb" Bluetooth receiver and plug that into your car’s audio in. An FM-to-Bluetooth adapter will work too.
Audio specs
- Apt-X, Apt-X HD, Aptx-AD and Aptx-LL are fully supported, as well as SBC.
- 24-bit 96 kHz sampling is supported.
USB data transfer support
USB data transfer is only available after soldering three wires (USB datalines and VBUS) to the iPod motherboard. You can view the soldering instructions for USB sync and USB audio here.
